First-Year Writing is where students begin their journey as academic and scholarly writers. Our courses invite you to discover how the act of writing has an integral relationship to your own life. You will learn the conventions and rhetorical methods of academic discourse, build skills to become a more effective writer and researcher, and be able to transfer what you learn to whatever lies ahead of you at Boise State.
