About
Dr. Amy J. Moll joined the College of Engineering faculty at Boise State in August 2000 as an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Moll was a co-founder of the Materials Science and Engineering department at BSU. She served as the first chair of the department from 2004-2008 . She served as Dean of the College of Engineering from 2011 to 2017 and as Associate Director of the Center for Advanced Energy Studies from 2017 to 2019. In 2018, she started the B.S. in Engineering, known as Engineering Plus, and serves as the Program Director. Dr. Moll focuses on engaging students through teaching introductory engineering courses and engineering outreach. Her research interests include microelectronic packaging, advanced manufacturing, MEMs, and engineering education.
Educational Background
Dr. Moll received a B.S. degree in Ceramic Engineering from University of Illinois, Urbana IL, in 1987. Her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees are in Materials Science and Engineering from University of California at Berkeley, received in 1992 and 1994, respectively. Following graduate school, Dr. Moll worked for Hewlett Packard for six years in San Jose, CA, and in Colorado Springs, CO.
