    About

Starting at Boise State University in 2021, Anders J. Tobiason is the Multimedia Development and User Experience Librarian at Albertsons Library. He earned a Ph.D. and M.A. both in Music Theory and an M.A. in Library and Information Science from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Anders has been developing multimedia learning objects for library instruction and has supported faculty and staff in their own learning object creation since 2019. In addition, he has worked on teams that have developed accessibility and anti-racism auditing tools for library learning objects and experiences. His research interests include anti-racist library instruction, multimedia development, critical discourse analysis of library instructional standards and materials, performing arts librarianship, and social media use in library instruction.

Anders believes, as Shawn Wilson writes in the foreword to Research is Ceremony: Indigenous Research Methods, that “relationships do not merely shape reality, they are reality.” (7) The relational experience of library users and library instructors (otherwise known as librarians) is vital to creating more complex and critical relationships to knowledge creation.
