Dr. Andrew C. Gase joined Boise State University as an assistant professor with the Department of Geosciences in 2024. He earned his Ph.D. in geological sciences from the University of Texas at Austin in 2021, and his M.S. in Geosciences from Boise State in 2017. Dr. Gase studies large, earthquake producing fault zones with seismic monitoring. He does some of his work at sea and some on land. His scientific career began with applying electromagnetic and seismic near surface geophysical tools to study stratigraphy and vadose zone properties. He now also uses seismic imaging, tomography, and host of other geophysical techniques to examine the internal constitution and evolution of volcanic systems, sedimentary basins, and tectonic plate boundaries.
