Dr. Robert H. Wood joined Boise State University in 2018 and is currently Director of the School of Allied Health Sciences. He attended the State University of New York at Cortland where he received his Bachelors degree as a double major in Physical Education and Biology. From there he received his Graduate Education at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, having received his Ph.D. in Kinesiology in 1996. His research interests relate primarily to aging, physical function, and disability. In addition, Dr. Wood has a particular interest in the aging of the autonomic nervous system and its relationship to functional decline in late life. His research has been supported by a number of federal agencies and private foundations including the National Institute on Aging and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
