Dr. Claudia Peralta returned to the Department of Bilingual Education at Boise State University in 2011 after three years teaching at California State University, Chico. She previously taught at Boise State from 2003-2008. Dr. Peralta has a Ph.D. in Social, Multicultural and Bilingual Education, Equity and Cultural Diversity, from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Her research centers on educational issues related to Spanish speaking and English language learners in U.S. schools. She is specifically interested in issues related to the development of bilingualism, biliteracy, multicultural literature, and social justice.
