    Darci McCall is an experienced nurse educator with a passion for teaching and for nursing. With almost a decade as nursing faculty with the School of Nursing at Boise State, Dr McCall taught in the traditional prelicense program for 7 years before transitioning to the RN-BS program in 2021. She has taught a variety of courses in many different settings: classroom, clinical, simulation, lab, and online and enjoys working with students in every setting. She is highly dedicated to nursing education and enjoys teaching and mentoring students in multiple settings.

    Dr. McCall completed her BSN at Idaho State University, her MSN with a specialization in Clinical Nursing Education at Jacksonville University, and her PhD in Nursing Education from the University of Northern Colorado. Her doctoral research focused on perinatal nurses’ experiences with pregnant women using marijuana, reflecting her clinical expertise in maternal/child nursing. She holds certifications in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing, Fetal Heart Monitoring, and Respectful, Equitable Care, and has earned certificates in online teaching. Additionally, she serves on the INPT Content Team for the National Certification Company working in test content development for the national certification test for Inpatient Obstetric Nurses.

    McCall has various publications and presentations in her areas of interest: attitudes towards marijuana use, nursing education practices, increasing diversity in nursing, and has a strong interest in curriculum, course development, healthcare technology, and student engagement.

    An Idaho native, Dr. McCall has also lived in Colorado and Alaska, strengthening her love of all things outdoors. These diverse living experiences have contributed to her broad perspective on healthcare environments and practices. She loves traveling anywhere, the mountains, the beach, wildlife viewing, and doing anything outdoors as long as it involves scenery: hiking, biking, running, walking, paddle boarding, skiing, and snowshoeing.
