About
Prof. Darius Dawson joined Boise State University in 2024 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Theatre, Film and Creative Writing. He received his MFA in film production from the New York University, Tisch School of the Arts in 2013, his MFA in film and television directing from DePaul University in 2015, and his MFA in directing from the American Film Institute in 2019. Prof. Dawson is an international filmmaker who has lensed projects across Southeast Asia, China, and Japan. His projects have screened in international festivals across the globe. Prof. Dawson has also spent the last five years serving as a teacher and mentor to students in a variety of environments, from grade-school students, to high-school students, to global artists and filmmakers as part of the Sundance Institute's Sundance Collab program.
