Dr. David Becerra joined Boise State University in 2023 and is currently the Divisional Dean for the School of Social Work.  He earned a Ph.D. in social work, specializing in social policy, and a MSW in Social work as an advanced generalist, both from Arizona State University. Dr. Becerra’s research focuses on social justice and the well-being of Latinos, particularly in the areas of immigration, health and education, and has been cited in several court briefs and decisions in the last 10 years. He is currently a member of the Council on Social Work Education, the National Association of Social Workers, the National Hispanic Science Network on Drug Abuse, and the Society for Social Work and Research.
