Dr. Dazhi Yang is a professor in the Department of Educational Technology, College of Education with a joint/courtesy appointment in the College of Engineering at Boise State University. She earned her PhD from Purdue University in 2008 and completed her post doctoral training in the School of Engineering Education also at Purdue. Dr. Yang works in the area of technology-supported learning and STEM education research as well as teacher education and professional development. Her recent research focuses on integrating computational thinking (CT) in K-12 STEM education, a STEM+C project which she directs and was funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). Dr. Yang is also actively involved in professional services. She has served on many national and state review panels and has been appointed as the Inaugural Member of the NSF's College of Reviewers for Undergraduate Education (CRUE) Pilot Program. Recently, Dr. Yang has been elected as the Secretary/Treasurer of the AERA Special Interest Group (SIG): Online Teaching and Learning (OTL). In addition, she is the board member of two non-profit organizations (Idaho Chinese Organization and Boise Modern Chinese School) in Boise, ID.
