    Dr. Denise G. Wingett earned a B.S. in Chemistry from Boise State University, a Ph.D. in Biophysics and Biochemistry from Washington State University, and then returned to Boise State as faculty in 2003. She now serves as professor in the Department of Biological Sciences and director of the Biomolecular Ph.D. program. In addition, she serves as affiliate faculty at the University of Washington School of Medicine, and as a Research Associate at Mountain States Tumor and Medical Research Institute here in Boise.
    The overall focus of her research investigates how the immune system is involved in the pathogenesis of human diseases, including asthma, autoimmunity and cancer, and novel ways to treat disease including nanotechnology based approaches.
