Erin Mannen grew up in a small town in Kansas, and earned her Bachelor's and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kansas. She completed postdoctoral training at the University of Denver in the Center for Orthopaedic Biomechanics, and began her faculty career at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery where she directed the translational research in orthopaedic biomechanics. Her lab at Boise State is the Boise Applied Biomechanics of Infants (BABI) Lab, where her team focuses on how babies move and use their muscles, and what that means for musculoskeletal development and safety in commercial infant products.
