    Dr. Ida Meftahi joined Boise State University in 2020 and is currently an assistant professor in the Department of History. She received a Ph.D. in Near and Middle Eastern Civilization from the University of Toronto, and an M.A. in Dance from York University. Dr. Meftahi’s research focuses on the Middle East, specializing in the history of modern Iran with an emphasis on the intersections of politics, gender, and performance (in its broader Goffmanian sense). She is a member of the American Historical Association, the Association for Iranian Studies, the Middle Eastern Studies Association, and the Society of Dance History Scholars.
