About

Dr. Jannatun Nawer joined Boise State University in June 2026, where she leads the High-Temperature Materials Lab (HTML) group. By combining microgravity and terrestrial studies, she addresses fundamental materials science challenges, building toward her vision of designing advanced alloys for in-space manufacturing and industrial additive manufacturing. Dr. Nawer has been supported by grants from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and has led three spaceflight experiments, in collaboration with NASA and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) in 2022, and with the European Space Agency (ESA) in 2023 and 2026.

Dr. Nawer earned her Master's and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University, and her B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from the Military Institute of Science and Technology in Bangladesh. She additionally completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Tufts University.
