Starting at Boise State University in 2022, Dr. Jelena Pokimica is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor with the Department of Organizational Performance & Workplace Learning. She holds a Doctorate in Education Policy, Organization & Leadership/HRD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, an M.A. in Sociology and an Master of Public Administration both from The University of Akron, and a B.A. in International Relations and French from Kent State University. Dr. Pokimica has considerable experience in teaching a series of courses in organization development, instructional design, facilitation skills, principles of human resource education, and research methods in a systematic manner and with keen interest in both conceptual and applied student learning. Dr. Pokimica has been studying research collaboration in strategic international university partnerships across disciplines, as well as administrative/executive collaboration in such contexts, using collective case study designs. She plans to extend her research to other types of alliances (e.g., business, government, non-profit). Dr. Pokimica is past Managing Editor of Human Resource Development International Journal. She is multilingual and has had ample international and multicultural experiences from Serbia, France, Denmark, and Hong Kong. She has been a recipient of the Donna Riechmann HRD Award, Outstanding Woman-Scholar Award, and is a KSU Honors College Alumna. She is well-regarded among students for her balanced way of teaching blending compassion and scientific rigor.
