Joe Tornello

Since 2011, Dr. Joseph Tornello has been the director of athletic bands and a member of the faculty in the Department of Music at Boise State University. His responsibilities include overseeing all athletic and pep bands including the Keith Stein Blue Thunder Marching Band, conducting the All Campus Band, and teaching marching band techniques. Dr. Tornello holds Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees from Virginia Tech and Jacksonville State University, respectively, and after many successful years teaching secondary instrumental music and percussion, he completed his DMA in wind band conducting at the University of Kentucky in 2012. He was Director of the Keith Stein Blue Thunder Marching Band at the 2011 MAACO Bowl in Las Vegas, Nevada.
