    Dr. Lida Uribe-Flórez is currently an associate professor in Boise State University’s Department of Teaching, Learning and Community Engagement. She earned her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Mathematics Education from Virginia Tech. She previously taught at New Mexico State University and was a Mathematics Education Researcher for the MC2-LIFT Project funded by the National Science Foundation which “focuses on improving classroom practice to increase student math learning through the development of pedagogical and math content knowledge…[and] developing expertise in working with adult learners and facilitating professional learning among colleagues and administrators within a school system” (http://mc2lift.nmsu.edu/). Her scholarship and creative activity interests include empowering English learnings, teacher leadership, and project-based social justice mathematics. Dr. Uribe-Flórez is a member of several professional groups including the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the American Educational Research Association.
