Dr. Logan M. Steele joined Boise State University in 2024 as an assistant professor in the Department of Management. He earned his Ph.D. and his M.S. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at the University of Oklahoma, in 2017 and 2014 respectively, and his B.A. in Psychology from Whitworth University in 2012. Dr. Steele’s research examines leadership and social comparisons: how do people’s perceptions of their disadvantages shape their behaviors and outcomes in organizations, and how do leaders strategically influence these perceptions? In pursuing this research agenda, he uses a broad set of methods, including lab and field experiments, surveys, meta-analysis, as well as qualitative methods. Steele has published his work in top-tier academic journals including the Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management, Journal of Applied Psychology, and The Leadership Quarterly. He is also an award-winning teacher. Through a flipped-classroom approach, he focuses on helping students develop knowledge and skills that they can quickly apply in their careers and use to positively impact their communities.
