About

Dr. J. Mac McCullough is a Professor with the Boise State University School of Public and Population Health.  He earned a PhD in Health Policy and Management with a focus on organizational behavior from the UCLA, an M.P.H. in Health Policy from the University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health, and a B.S. in Foreign Service with a focus on international health from Georgetown University. Dr. McCullough was recognized by the de Beaumont Foundation on their “40 Under 40 Public Health Leader” list in 2019.  His research focuses on public health and social services spending, analyzing and quantifying its effect on public health, as well as the structures and financing of organizations promoting population health. Prior to academia he worked at the National Academy of Sciences and U.S. Department of State.
