About
Dr. Mariane Bacelar started at Boise State University in 2022 and is currently an Assistant Professor with the Department of Kinesiology. She earned a Ph.D. in Kinesiology and an M.S. in Exercise Science both from Auburn University, and a B.S. in Physical Education from the Universidade Federal de Lavras, Brazil. Dr. Bacelar’s research looks to understand how practice conditions that enhance motivation affect motor skill acquisition and the neurophysiological mechanisms of short- and long-term behavior adaptation under a reinforcement learning framework. She is a reviewer for the journals Brain Research; Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport; and the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Perception and Performance. Dr. Bacelar is also a member of the North American Society for the Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity and the Society for Psychophysiological Research.
