Dr. Qifei Niu started at Boise State University in 2019 and is currently an assistant professor with the Department of Geosciences. He received a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a Master of Science in Geotechnical Engineering from the China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research. Dr. Niu’s most recent research was studying the slope hydrology in response to local vegetation under varying weather conditions in Hong Kong. His current research interests include soil and rock physics, electrical methods, nuclear magnetic resonance, and their applications in hydrogeology, critical zone science, and engineering. Dr. Niu is a member of the American Geophysical Union and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists.
