Dr. Qifei Niu joined Boise State University in 2019 and is currently an associate professor in the Department of Geosciences. He received a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Dr. Niu’s most recent research has focused on mountain hydrology and near-surface geophysics. In particular, his research group is developing novel approaches to integrate geophysical field data into hydrologic modeling to better understand the role of subsurface storage in mountain watersheds. He received the NSF CAREER award in 2024.
