About
Dr. Raissa Miller is an Associate Professor in the Department of Counselor Education. She earned a Ph.D. in Counseling and a B.A. in International Studies from the University of North Texas. She also completed advanced training in Interpersonal Neurobiology through the Mindsight Institute and levels I and II training in the Gottman Method through the Gottman Institute. Dr. Miller’s clinical experience includes work in community agencies and private practice serving individual and couples struggling with developmental and clinical mental health concerns. Her primary research interests include understanding the impact of integrating and teaching principles of interpersonal neurobiology to students, practitioners, and clients, as well as developing community-based research initiatives in substance abuse treatment. She has collaborated on research related to the clinical practices of counselor educators, factors related to the therapeutic relationship, and the potential impact of the DSM-5. She is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the Global Association for Interpersonal Neurobiology Studies (GAINS) amongst others.
