About
Ryan Cannon is an Assistant Professor in Boise State University’s Department of Communication. He earned his M.F.A. in Screenwriting at the University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor of Arts in both Media Arts Studies and English from Brigham Young University. Mr. Cannon’s services have included being the Associate Director for the Show Me Justice Film Festival at the University of Central Missouri. This international film festival is organized to increase awareness regarding social justice, and inspire individuals through the art of film to take action against social injustices such as poverty, racism, and sexism. Mr. Cannon’s work has been screened at various film festivals and networks including the Sundance Film Festival and A&E. He has been the Director of Photography on six productions, the director (and sometimes writer) on six other productions, and the screenwriter for four works, one of which, Sometimes Thieves, is currently in development.
