About

Dr. Scott T. Phillips started at Boise State University in 2017 and is currently a professor with the Micron School of Materials Science and Engineering. Prior to coming to Boise State Dr. Phillips was an Associate Professor with Penn State University and his research efforts have been recognized through several awards including the Gates Foundation Grand Challenge Explorations Award and the NSF CAREER Award. His research interests include the design of thermally stable amplification reagents, stimuli-responsive materials, and analytical materials chemistry, among others. He is currently a member of the American Chemical Society, the Materials Research Society, Phi Kappa Phi, and Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society.

Educational Background
Dr. Phillips earned his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.S. in chemistry with a focus on biochemistry from California State University, San Bernardino.
