Dr. Seth-Aaron Martinez joined Boise State University in 2021 as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Organizational Performance and Workplace Learning. In 2022 he became an Assistant Professor with the department, as well as founding the Learning Strategy Lab, where he still holds the position of Director. He received his M.S. in instructional psychology from Brigham Young University in 2010. In 2016, he received his Ph.D. in instructional systems from Indiana University, additionally obtaining a Doctoral Minor from the Kelley School of Business. Dr. Martinez is a learning consultant, advisor, and award-winning author whose scholarship centers on the cognitive, behavioral, and socio-emotional dimensions of expertise development. His current work focuses on leadership development, in particular. He also serves as the Associate Editor for the Journal of Non-Profit Innovation (JONI), and is a brain-based executive coach, certified through the NeuroLeadership Institute. At both Meta and Adobe, he built global training programs and consulted with executives on the strategy behind their training at scale. At Stanford University, he consulted with faculty to design MBA and Executive Ed coursework in the Graduate School of Business.
