Dr. Seth Ashley joined the faculty of the Department of Communication at Boise State in 2011. He holds an M.A. and Ph.D., both from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. Dr. Ashley's research centers on the role and impact of news media in the public sphere. With attention to communication policy and media literacy, he investigates the social forces and economic realities that shape journalism as an institution, and explores the impact of media on society. His aim is to help facilitate and preserve vibrant journalism, and to educate and empower individuals in becoming engaged as news consumers and citizens.
