    About

    Starting at Boise State University in 2018, Dr. Tomasz Grusiecki is currently an Assistant Professor in Early Modern Art History with the Department of Art.  He received a Ph.D. in Art History from McGill University, an MRes in History and Civilisation from the European University Institute, and an M.A. in History of Art from University College London.  Dr. Grusiecki’s research area is in the art and visual culture of early modern Europe with an emphasis on the German- and Polish-speaking lands in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. He specializes in the study of cultural interactions between east-central Europe and the wider world, focusing on the issues of centre and periphery, cultural liminality, artistic mediation, and perceptions of selfhood and alterity.  Dr. Grusiecki is currently a member of a number of associations including the College Art Association, the Renaissance Society of America, and the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies to name a few.
