Dr. Yu-Chang Hsu is Professor of Educational Technology at Boise State University. He earned his PhD in Instructional Systems (now Learning, Design, and Technology) with a doctoral minor in Educational Psychology from the Pennsylvania State University. He also holds two degrees of EdM in TESOL and Education and Technology from SUNY at Buffalo. His research interests and expertise include mobile app programming and computing education, computer-supported collaborated learning (CSCL), maker education and physical computing for STEAM education, game-based mobile augmented reality and virtual reality for teaching and learning. He has published extensively in the areas above. He has received grant funding from the National Science Foundation and Department of Defense Education Activity to research integrating STEM disciplinary knowledge into programming and collaborative problem solving, and how to integrate coding activities as well computational thinking in STEM curriculum. He has expertise and experiences in multiple methodologies including quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, and design-based research. He has developed and taught courses on mobile app programming, maker technologies, game-based mobile augmented reality and virtual reality, research methods, and doctoral seminars on trends of educational research.
