2023 Journal Summary from Editor in Chief

As the Editor in Chief of AIMS Molecular Science, it is my pleasure to provide a summary of journal activities for 2023. Over the past three years, 2023 attracted the highest number of article submissions with 68 manuscripts received, leading to 20 high quality publications that averaged 115 days from time of submission to public access online. The majority of papers that were rejected for publication did not align with the scope of journal, meet the quality threshold, or they were not scientifically sound. Papers were published for work submitted by researchers across ten different countries. Nearly all publications were research articles and reviews. Within a two-year timeframe, the most popular articles attracted between 1,011 and 2,242 reads, with some articles being cited up to eight times in the past three years.
