Abstract

Previous work by the authors has described a differential-algebraic approach to speed estimation in induction motors. The method shows that the speed ω can be found by solving for the roots of a polynomial in ω whose coefficients are functions of the stator voltages, stator currents, and their derivatives. Preliminary experimental results are presented in which the speed is estimated using the differential-algebraic method.
