Abstract

An educational project, Alternate Pathways to Success in Information Technology (APSIT) program, developed to explore the nature of engineering education and career pathways was discussed. The specific goals of this project include: defining alternate indices of IT and engineering success and to determine the nature of successful IT and engineering educational and career pathways used by women and under represented populations. It was observed that in particular, race, ethnicity and gender were the stratification points that effect professions and choices to enter people into such fields. It was suggested that satisfaction with benefits will be the predictor for job satisfaction.
