Abstract
This study employs the Freirean cultural circle (1993) to help Chinese transnational teenagers to find their voices and advocate for themselves. In the cultural circle, the participants interact with multicultural literature about Chinese cultures and co-construct meaning of the books. This study seeks to examine how Chinese transnational teenagers respond to history, values, and cultural practices in the books and use cultural knowledge to reconstruct their identities through interactive dialogue.
