Abstract
Previous research suggests that a positive relationship exists between sexual victimization and intimate partner violence in that adult survivors of intimate partner violence are likely to report a history of sexual victimization as well. Using data from the 2011 Youth Risk Behavior Survey, a nationwide assessment of health risk behaviors among high school students, this paper closely examines the relationship between sexual victimization and adolescent dating violence in Mountain West states. Additional correlates are also examined and directions for future research and policy are offered.
