This study explored the differences based on age regarding factors that attract and retain management talent in electrical construction. Data were collected through a nationwide survey of management personnel in electrical construction. It was found that while some factors were influential for all age groups, certain factors became more or less influential for the youngest age group(s). As a result, recommendations are made for more effective recruitment and retention strategies based on age in electrical construction. In addition to individual conclusions regarding factors that influence individuals to join or remain, the authors concluded that decision makers are more likely to miss the mark in recruiting and retention if they are not listening to younger individuals.
