Abstract
Theories, especially learning theories, provide a critical foundation for effective instruction and the use of technology in classrooms. The need for introducing and informing teachers with learning theories and emerging theories of their respective subject areas is imperative. This study explored the impact of learning theories and emerging theories of educational technology on teachers’ use of technology in classrooms. Results show that learning and exposure to learning theories and theoretical foundations of educational technology positively affected teachers’ practice and their use of technology in classrooms. This study has implications for teacher training and education programs and effective technology integration.
