Abstract
The stacking sequence of layers of self-assembled semiconducting cadmium selenide (CdSe) nanoparticles were analyzed using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The CdSe nanoparticles were produced by solution pyrolysis of organometallic precursors in trioctylphosphine. These nanoparticles having three dimensional arrangements resembling the face centered cubic (FCC) or hexagonal closed packed (HCP) crystal structures. An ordered CdSe assembly formed at a lower solvent evaporation rate with different layers was also presented.
