Abstract

In order to supply a stable supply voltage in any system, it is important to design an adjustable load tracking mechanism in a RF energy harvester with variable input RF power. For this reason, design of a DC-DC converter with a maximum power point tracking mechanism for a RF energy harvester is presented in this paper. The maximum power point tracking mechanism is implemented using a sample and hold circuit in tracking loop. The overall design is done in a 130 nm standard CMOS process. This makes the design much smaller compared to other existing designs and suitable for wearable and implantable biomedical applications as well.
