Abstract

Sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) are promising alternative to lithium-ion batteries for low cost energy storage systems. In this work, we utilize nanochanneled niobium oxides (NCNOs) made by electropolishing Nb substrate followed by anodization as the anode electrode materials for SIB. Confirmation of crystallinity and surface morphology of the NCNOs was completed through X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Finally, the anode material’s electrochemical performance was determined in a coin cell through a rate study.
