N2 - One promising technology to interface battery packs in electric and hybrid electric vehicles are multilevel converters. In the work presented here, it is shown how the switching times (angles) in a multilevel inverter can be chosen to achieve a required fundamental voltage and not generate specific higher order harmonics. The method gives a complete solution to the problem in that all possible solutions are found.
