Embracing the Opportunity in Whitewater

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Not long ago, friends invited me on a weekend trip that included whitewater rafting. As a water activity enthusiast, I eagerly accepted the invitation 3 months in advance of the trip. I am not one to take many physical risks, and I thought the trip sounded like a pretty low-key adventure. But as the date approached, I began to have some negative thoughts.  What if I fall out of the raft? If I fall out, will I be able to get back in? What is the chance of a serious injury? Am I physically ready for this adventure?
