Expanding on the Important Discussion of “Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?” in IDT Research

Where have all the Cowboys gone? Dr. John Curry, TechTrends’ Editor-In-Chief and one of the prominent leaders of our Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT), is asking the right question! Using the metaphor of “Cowboy thinking,” Dr. Curry points to an important issue—the lack of engagement with the big ideas in the Instructional Design and Technology (IDT) scholarship, in other words, the lack of Maverick thinking in IDT scholarship.
