Abstract

A mathematical model of a permanent magnet (PM) stepper motor is given, and a control algorithm based on the exact linearization approach is described. The controller was implemented on an experimental setup consisting of a Motorola DSP56001ADS digital signal processing system and associated hardware. Results are given on the identification of the unknown motor parameters using a least-squares algorithm.
