Abstract

The formation of metastable Pr2Fe23B3 phase and its effect on magnetic properties in rapidly quenched Pr 9Fe91-xBx magnets were discussed. Philips X-ray diffractometer and Perkin-Elmer thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) were used. Results showed that Pr2Fe23B3 decomposes at around 720°C or above and sequences in the demagnetization curve improve.
