Abstract

Porter and McKibbin (1987) investigated the future of management education and development in the United States. After studying the opinions of university and business leaders, the authors stated that they would like to see more "realistic, practical, hands-on" education with greater emphasis on the development of "people" (e.g. leadership/interpersonal) skills. The authors also conveyed a desire to see business schools interact more with the business community.
