Abstract
The physical nature of an in-plane-edge Somigliana dislocation (SD) has been described. The stress fields of SD dipoles and of a SD quadrupole are given in terms of linear isotropic elasticity. The results may be applied e.g. dislocation problems, to inclusions, to the modeling of martensitic transformations and to other topics of plasticity.
