Juvenile Substance Abuse: Best Practices and State of Idaho Gap Analysis

Research output: Contribution to conferencePresentation

Abstract

This paper reviews best practices in the areas of juvenile substance abuse. Best practices identified include diversion to treatment, drug/courts, functional family therapy, wraparound services, multisystemic therapy, and multi-dimensional treatment foster care. Following this review, research using archival data and key informant interviews is presented, suggesting that the State of Idaho is making strides in providing a system of care for juveniles who present themselves with substance abuse issues.
