Learning by Teaching Elementary Mathematics Methods Course in Different Settings

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to learn the differences and similarities of teaching mathematics methods course for elementary preservice teachers. In the university, we had three different sessions for the course and each one in different settings and instructor. Instructors meet weekly to plan and discuss the content and resources to be used for each lesson. Instructors will discuss their experiences and the learning from this study. In addition, results from data on students’ beliefs and attitudes toward teaching mathematics in elementary school will be shared and discussed.
