Abstract

This interactive keynote will share the findings of a new study focusedon engaged readers of texts, which are often marginalised by school,including romance, horror, vampire, manga, dystopia and fantasy.The session will explore the pleasures and psychological satisfactionsthat these texts provide. It will also look at ways to leverage such textsin order to promote more engaged and proficient student reading.
