Losing a Vital Voice: Grief and Language Work

    Abstract

    This work explores the emotional component of work with elderly speakers of highly endangered languages. Drawing on personal examples from their work in North and South America for more than 20 years, the implications of such work from both methodological and training perspectives is highlighted.
